The Syrian crisis has led to a massive influx of Syrian refugees in Lebanon. They are more than one million in a 4-million-inhabitants country. The United Nations are forecasting them to be 1.5 million at the end of 2014.
arcenciel is organizing a fundraising campaign for 40 days: Lebanese, Syrians and you. This initiative aims at improving the Syrian refugees’ living conditions and support Lebanese host communities.
Our organization has been involved in the refugees support since the beginning of the Syrian crisis. In 2013, 91,825 services were delivered to 27,194 Syrian beneficiaries. In comparison, 13,313 services had been delivered to 557 Syrian beneficiaries in 2012. The needs are thus huge and are still growing.
