On Saturday the 6th of December 2014, arcenciel held its first strategic consulting meeting in its center at Jisr el Wati. This meeting was held in the presence of arcenciel’s board members and external personalities recognized for their expertise in key fields: Charles Hage [strategy], Christine Assaf [humanities], Georges Aoun [management], Khalil Daoud [business development], Lena Ghannage [law], Mario Saradar [finance], Rene Chamussy [sociology], Samir Frangieh [politics]. Due to delays in the flight, Maroun Edde [strategy] could not attend the meeting.
The mission and role of this council is to provide advice and guidance on important issues and promote exchanges and opportunities to explore. During this first meeting, the council discussed issues about arcenciel development, and about the mutation of social work towards the entrepreneurial model and possible ways of governance given the multiplicity of structures, activities and economical models inside arcenciel.
The council will meet two times a year upon arcenciel general director’s invitation.
To continue having a social impact, arcenciel must have an impact on the social level. Its future is to become a model of values that will inspire society and create role examples. Those examples will produce initiatives to partner with arcenciel or follow its model. This competition will have a positive impact on the society.
arcenciel must also find innovative and polymorphic solutions to ensure a stable funding for its nonprofit activities. These solutions include both the use of funding from the public and the diaspora, and the mobilization of investors in profitable projects.
