Spanish Ambassador in Lebanon Visits arcenciel center

On the 12th of November 2012, H.E. Mrs. Milagros Hernando (ambassador of Spain in Lebanon) visited arcenciel center in Jisr el Wati to learn more about the situation of Iraqi refugees. Mrs. Hernando was accompanied by Mrs. Irene Cabrera (Director of Lebanon – ACEID), Javier Gila (director of the spanish association AIDA), Cristina Carballo and Ferran Quevedo (AIDA – Lebanon).

Consequently, Mrs. Hernando was informed in regards of the activities of arcenciel, particularly programs such as: accessibility and mobility, environment, health, social and youth. Upon which she came to see the woodworking, technical aid production, ceramic fabrication and painting workshops, not to mention the various services and medical care.

A ground visit then allowed her to encounter an Iraqi family and gain a better understanding of the situation regarding Iraqi refugees, and the activities provided by arcenciel in their favor which are sustained and supported since 2009 by the spanish cooperation AECID.

The arcenciel team and its patrons deeply thank the Kingdom of Spain, represented today by H.E. the Ambassador for its valuable support throughout many years in various programs undertaken by arcenciel.

This is great backing for arcenciel in the continuing struggle for participation in sustainable development of vulnerable groups and the re-integration of marginalized people.
