Kfarnabrakh - 2004 

History

In spring 2004, the Greek Catholic bishop of the Chouf requested that arcenciel supports a school in Kfarnabrakh directed by the Basilian Chouerite sisters. This school of 135 students experienced several years of financial and structural difficulties: the debts accumulated, and the management changed regularly. The mission entrusted by the bishop to arcenciel is doubled: on one hand, to work for the reconciliation of the Druze and Christian populations, and on the other to improve local infrastructure in order to facilitate the return of displaced populations. arcenciel accepts the proposal of the bishop in July 2004.

Key dates 

2004 : arcenciel decides to set up a rainbow club to attract local youth and establish a summer school. A team of volunteers supports the children to assess both the level of education and the problems that might arise. From kindergarten to middle school, its back to school for 193 students. The objective is to provide quality education at a reduced price, thus continuing the mission that arcenciel put forth; namely universal access to quality facilities in all fields. 

"Al Mahabba" school 

The "Al Mahabba school " unites a preschool with a tri-phase school system. The nursery section includes, in correspondance to children aged two to six. The school is supplied with a tutorial laboratory and a computer room for the introduction to industrial technology. In addition, management gives utmost importance to monitor their students interactions, pupil / school, and school / parent relationships.

The main objective of the arcenciel managed "Al Mahabba" school is to strengthen team spirit and promote a better understanding of the surrounding environment by inviting each of the students to be as creative as possible. The students are mostly from underprivileged backgrounds. They come from local communities such as Kfarnabrakh, Barouk, Bekaata, Kfarhim, Baadarane, Brih, Kahlouniyyé and Baakline.
